A logo that communicates.


The Burch Media brand identity draws on the concept of communication and story-telling, avoiding the usual media visual clichés and reflecting the essence of what Burch Media does.

The brief / project objectives

Burch Media is run by the talented duo, Kevin and Sally Burch. Kevin, a former BBC Look East and East Anglian Daily Times journalist, is now a freelance video journalist, film-maker, drone operator and media trainer, with over 30 years’ experience in the media industry. Sally also has over 30 years of production, organisational and interpersonal skills in the radio industry, and was previously Producer of the Mark Murphy breakfast show on BBC Radio Suffolk. 


Together they specialise in producing bespoke media for a wide variety of clients. They are well-known for their personable approach; it takes a special skill to put people at ease in front of the camera, and Burch Media has this in spades.

Ultimately, Kevin and Sally are communicators. Their job is to find the human angle to every story; helping their clients connect better with their audience. 


The Burch Media brand identity draws on this concept, with subtle speech bubbles in the b and d, signifying the idea of communication and story-telling. By avoiding the usual media visual clichés, I’ve created a brand identity that really reflects the essence of what Burch Media does. 


The execution of the logo is clear and crisp; the colours are positive and energetic (reflecting the people behind the brand) and the fonts are contemporary, with rounded forms that give a relaxed, human feel.


The strap-line bullets are concise and to the point, clearly showcasing Burch Media’s key specialities. 

As shown below, I also created a stacked version of the logo – in a square format that could be used as a social media profile icon – as well as reversed colour versions to provide flexibility in their visual brand.
