UK Data Service is the principal repository for economic, population, and social research data in the UK.
Each year their Annual Report details how the organisation continues to lead and share best practice across the national and international research landscape, shaping and delivering active data preservation services, data curation, literacy and impact for a stronger society.
In February 2026 we published their latest Annual Report, for the period 1 April 2024 to 31 March 2025.
Designing this report is always about more than layout; it’s about communicating impact. The challenge is to present complex datasets, research outcomes, and strategic achievements in a way that are both visually compelling and easy to navigate. Strong editorial structure, clear hierarchy, and purposeful data visualisation are central to the approach.
Long-term collaborations like this are always especially rewarding and I’m grateful to have worked on publications that support research, transparency, and public knowledge. 2026 marks the third consecutive year I’ve designed the Annual Report for UK Data Service, across both print and digital formats.
Each year, the report is carefully designed to showcase UK Data Service’s achievements, value and impact from the previous year. The layouts are vibrant, contemporary and engaging, with bespoke illustrations and infographics that highlight their main successes during this time period.
